Gardening shows have been a popular highlight of the horticultural calendar for years, giving green-fingered experts the opportunity to showcase their many hours of hard work in the garden to the public and peers.
This month, we were lucky enough to attend the RHS Hampton Court Garden Festival, where we explored the beautiful (albeit muddy!) grounds of Hampton Court and the many stunning displays at the show.
Of course, there was plenty of time to chat to our clients there, too!
There was no question about where our first stop was going to be – the Get Up and Grow Garden, created by our client Lucy Hutchings AKA She Grows Veg, which formed the centrepiece of the show’s newly dedicated allotment area.
Inspired by Lucy’s hugely popular book “Get Up and Grow,” the project aimed to inspire and encourage people of all skill levels to have a go at growing their own fruit and vegetables, regardless of space available.
Unsurprisingly, the garden proved to be a huge success, and we lined up interviews and opportunities for Lucy with the likes of BBC, House Beautiful, Country Living, The Garden Media Guild and Grow Your Own, as well as a host of live tours across Instagram, too!
Amongst the other highlights included the ever-popular Festival of Roses, the Floral Marquee and the Fashion Footprint Garden.
The dramatic Extinction garden by Felicity O’Rourke, which featured an apparent plane crash symbolising the sixth mass extinction threat to our planet, was a definite talking point of the week!
But, why should brands be there too?
With several big gardening events returning still to come this year, including Gardeners’ World Live and the Chelsea Flower Show, why should brands consider heading to these events?
Well, gardening shows are undoubtedly a great way to help your brand bloom and get noticed by the right people. Whether you are exhibiting with a stand space, sponsoring a garden or project or offering fabulous prizes for competitions, there are lots of ways to get involved!
And if you’re not involved from a marketing point of view, make sure you get tickets and go along away! What better way to keep ahead of the latest trends and mingle with the best in the business? You never know who you might getting chatting to over a bed of roses…
See you at the next show!
